Dogwood Fiber Trail

Mark your calendars now to join seven of Virginia’s premier yarn shops for nine days of fabulous fiber fun.  Each unique shop is planning special events, trunk shows, demonstrations, kits, and displays to inspire and nurture your passion.  There will be a virtual kick-off party on Thursday, April 3.  Pick up a trail guide and visit each shop to qualify for a grand prize.
 
Subscribe to the Dogwood Fiber Trail newsletter to be kept up to date on all activities and visit the Dogwood Fiber Trail website (dogwoodfibertrail.com) for links to all seven shops’ websites for information on special events.  The Instagram account is @dogwoodfibertrail.  The Trail’s email address is dogwoodfibertrail@gmail.com.
 
We encourage you to make your fiber trail more than a one or two-day road trip.  Take several days with friends to explore seven diverse metropolitan areas with major attractions, historic landmarks, natural environs, and gastronomic experiences.

Special Events at Center of the Yarniverse:

FXBG Fibers dyed our 2025 Dogwood Fiber Trail special colorway, Fibertrail 2025! The colorway won't be revealed until the Zoom Event, Thursday, April 3 at 7:00 pm EST, but I can tell you it's a beautiful dogwood inspired speckled yarn and pairs well with Spring Green - Fingering weight, 100g/400yds, 75% swm/25% nylon

FXBG Fibers will also have a trunk show during the entire Dogwood Fiber Trail.  Laura will be at the shop Saturday, April 5th!

 
Quad will be outside the shop Saturday, April 5th with his lathe, where he will be turning interchangeable crochet hook handles.  And check out all the other handy things he makes for us crafters!

FiberGnome brings a curated collection of hand crafted project bags - just in time to add a little magic to your making. This trunk show will feature exclusive designs, including her much anticipated dogwood themed bags! Whether you are a long time fan or discovering FiberGnome for the first time, you will find bags that blend function, charm, and a touch of whimsy! Bags will be in the shop throughout the Dogwood Fiber Trail, and Jenna will be here in person on select days.

Alpaca Meet & Greet, Sunday, April 6th

Looking for a one-of-a-kind experience? Come spend time with an adorable alpaca from Meadowgate Alpacas.  Get up close and personal with a friendly alpaca for a photo op with a charming, fluffy face! Meet owners Stephen and Nicole Phillips and learn about life on an alpaca farm.

Center of the Yarniverse is proud to be the only yarn store to carry Meadowgate Alpacas yarn. Choose from a variety of natural hues, each one as special as the alpacas themselves. Each skein comes with a card detailing the specific animals that contributed their fiber to your yarn!
