Amigurumi Bunny (In person)

WHAT IS AMIGURUMI?

Amigurumi, a popular type of crochet, is a portmanteau of two Japanese terms: ami, meaning crocheted or knitted; and nuigurumi, a stuffed doll. It often takes the form of an animal or fantastical creature with an aesthetic that’s best described as kawaii or cute. This makes amigurumi ideal for kids or anyone that likes button noses and rosy cheeks.

Are you hooked but don’t know where to start? Then this class is for you! Students will learn the basics of amigurumi, learn to shape little creatures, create different facial expressions, and dress up their creations. By the end of the classes you will be able to go home with this cute giraffe.

Instructor Name:
Ivonne Schuh
Instructor Bio:
Hi there, my name is Ivonne and I am a German expat currently living in Mechanicsville, VA. I have been knitting and crocheting since I was a child, taught by many talented women in my family and in school. I enjoy knitting and crocheting because I love to create. I am passionate about all the fiber arts but my favorite "child" is definitely amigurumi, which is the Japanese word for "crochet doll/creature". I love creating colorful, happy one-of-a-kind items because the world is already crowded with gray and dull off-the-conveyor-belt-monotony. I would love to share my knowledge with you. Let's make something vibrant and unique!
