Beginning Crochet (in-person) with Ivonne

Learn and develop the basics skills of crochet – starting with how to hold the yarn and hook and how to crochet the basic stitches. We then move on to increasing and decreasing, basic pattern reading, working flat and in the round. We will also learn about yarn weight and work with different types of yarn. This class will include several little projects to keep you interested, entertained, and challenged.

Instructor: Ivonne Schuh
Instructor Bio: Hi there, my name is Ivonne and I am a German expat currently living in Mechanicsville, VA. I have been knitting and crocheting since I was a child, taught by many talented women in my family and in school. I enjoy knitting and crocheting because I love to create. I am passionate about all the fiber arts but my favorite "child" is definitely amigurumi, which is the Japanese word for "crochet doll/creature". I love creating colorful, happy one-of-a-kind items because the world is already crowded with gray and dull off-the-conveyor-belt-monotony. I would love to share my knowledge with you. Let's make something vibrant and unique!
