Beginning Knitting Level 2 (In-Person) with Jenna



This is not just a hat, but a gateway to knitting so many other in the round projects, from cowls to sweaters. If you know how to knit and how to purl, but you have really only made flat shapes (washcloth, scarf, a blanket maybe), this course is for you. Let's take your skills to the next level!

In this course we will create a beanie hat (yes, you can make it slouchy if you would like), and we will cover topics like:

-          Long-tail cast on, not just how to do it but how to know the length of the tail and other helpful hints

-          Working in the round

-          Decrease stitches

-          Many helpful tips and tricks to make your knitting projects look more polished

Instructor: Jenna Hycner, FiberGnome

Materials:

-          Pattern (provided in class)

-          Yarn: Worsted weight, approx. 180 yds. Cascade 220 Superwash or Uptown Worsted in a light color recommended

-          Needles: US 7 & 8 16” circular. NOTE: another needle will be needed for the last class, but we will discuss what you need in the 2nd session because you have options

-          Notions: One stitch marker, tapestry needle, row counter, measuring tape, scissors
