Perfect course for adventurous beginners and beyond. (Must know how to knit and purl already, but we will cover everything else).

Let’s knit a sweater! Not just any sweater, but a sweater that will fit you the way you want it to.

This course is for you if:

-          You have never knit a sweater you’ve been happy with (or you’ve never knit a sweater)

-          You want to focus on how get that fit thing down

-          You are ready for the next level of challenge

-          You’ve made several projects but are looking to clarify or refine your finished objects

-          How to tweak a basic pattern to obtain a more desirable fit

-          So many more reasons!

In this course you may select between two patterns, both are in the classic raglan style worked top down and in the round. One pattern is the Ladies Classic Raglan Pullover by Jane Richmond with very classic styling and is highly adaptable. The other option is the Ramona Pullover by Elizabeth Smith, written for straight, a-line or fitted styling. In this class we will cover:

-          How to properly take your measurements

-          Size selection

-          Top down, in the round construction of a yoke style sweater

-          Magic loop

-          Increases/Decreases

-          How to alter the sweater shaping

-          So much more! 

Supplies: 

Pattern:  Ladies Classic Raglan Pullover by Jane Richmond or Ramona Pullover by Elizabeth Smith (available for in-store purchase via Ravelry)

Yarn:  If Ladies Classic Raglan: Worsted weight yarn. See pattern for yardage based on the size you think you might knit, rounding up in yardage is always a good policy. Suggested yarn for class: Cascade 220, Cascade 220 Superwash, Cascade 220 Superwash Wave, Remix, Urth Worsted, Manos del Uruguay Alegria Grande 

If Ramona Pullover: Aran weight yarn. See pattern for yardage based on the size you think you might knit, rounding up in yardage is always a good policy. Suggested yarn for class: Cascade Ecological Wool, Jody Long Andeamo Lite or Lucky Tweed.

Needles:  3 sizes based on yarn selection. The size recommended by the yarn and then 1 size smaller and 1 size larger. 40 inch circular recommended for magic loop.

General knitting supplies:  Stitch markers (for repeats) and a beginning of round marker, a means of tracking rows, stitch holder, scissors, measuring tape, gauge ruler, tapestry needle.
